Prices in Period and Volume Discount

Hi,

 

We define Prices for certain items in Period and Volume discount.

 

When we create a sales order, we indicate the item and quantity and then it shows a Price after discount, however, when we update the unit price and update the quantity again, it doesn't show the right price for Period and Volume assigned to that Price List.

 

Once I change the Unit Price, Period and Volume Discount does not recognize the hierarchy of prices according to the quantity on marketing documents.

 

Can someone explain this system Behaviour?

Dissable Add-on Start/Stop For Certain Users

Hi Experts,

 

I have a Situation Where we need to Restrict the all the Users[Except Manager] to Stop a Particular Add-on.

For this i have made the Add-on as Mandatory But when i do so the Add-on is mandatory for all the Users even for manager also,

 

So is there any Way to Achive the above  by SP or any other Workarounds???

Software Center Download Problems

Hi,

 

I am trying to download B1 9 PL5 from the software center and never quite make it to completion - the download just stalls and times out at varying stages.

 

I tried using the Download Manager too, but that doesn't start at all. It connects to my basket then gets stuck at 'preparing to download'.

 

I have tried the download from two different locations, neither of which I have had any problems with in the past.

 

Is this a general issue?

OSDB migration; export to NFS or to local disk + secure copies?

I'm interested in the community opinion on this one.

 

If you're running an OSDB migration SAP do not recommend exporting to NFS I think.

However it is a simple way to run a migration - exporting data direct to a NFS mounted from the target server.

It means a simple export process and no need to expensive disk space on the source (though I would always keep logs/controlling files locally and just export the DATA itself to NFS).

 

But NFS is unreliable, sometimes, I find....

So should you always export to local disk and then have a process in place to copy data (and signal files if using them) from source to target once exported?

Internal Error (1102) occured - [Message 131-183]

Dear Friend,

 

              we try to connect the SAP B1 server  using Logme Hamachi.  But I could not connect  then it show the following Error Messge.

 

 

                        Internal Error (1102) occured - [Message 131-183]

 

              Desable the  Firewall , Antivirus and Created the Port 30000, but It still show the above error message when connect the sap B1 server though Logme Hamachi.

 

            Herewith I have attached the Screen Short also.

Can't Resume Download B1882 PL 12 using Remote Support Platform

Dear All,

 

I have problem when trying to download SAP B1882 PL 12 using Remote Support Platform. At the beginning, the download process run smooth, but then stopped after downloading for more than 100 Megs or after several minutes downloading. We then tried to continue the download process, by re-clicking the start download. The result was it never resumed the download process.

 

It always like this. We try again and again, but the download process always stops prematurely or can't resume at all. Sometimes RSP shows file is 100% downloaded. Sure, the file is in C:\Program Files\SAP\Remote support platform for SAP Business One\Service\Download, but the file size is always less than the size it should be and the zip file is corrupt. The weirdest  thing is RSP shows the progress bar value minus bla bla bla percent.

We suspect it's because of our internet connection. We change our internet connection using different providers, the result is still the same.

 

The reason why we choose to download the patch level using RSP is because previously we tried to download the patch level using SAP Download Progress, but the download process never run. SAP Download manager status bar showed "Process object 'SAP Business One 8.82 Patch (SP00) ...", but the progress bar never moved forward.

 

Are there other ways we can download the patch level? How?

License Server

Hello All

 

I have a Case for your advice:

 

If i have two different companies with to different License Files and want to share one server, in this case can i host License Server/ 2 license Server on one machine to accommodate 2 different license files

 

If its not possible straight, what is the best alternatives

 

The Versions are 8.81 and can upgrade to 8.82 or 9.0 if required

Upgrade to 9.0 PL05 failed without error

Dear all,

 

we currently tried to upgrade one of our customer from 8.82 PL06 to 9.0 PL05.

Please note that we have two servers : an sql server, an sap server

 

The problem occurs when we start to upgrade SBO-COMMON. The wizard tells that un error occurred and stop the upgrade.

No message are available.

 

So we look at the error log and find this error : "failed to backup share folder"

 

We discover than after sbo-common backup, the upgrade wizard try to create a zip file with B1_SHR content.

 

The sql server can access the shared folder in the sap server.

 

Any idea of what's going on ?

 

It seems that we can reproduce the problem when having two server.

Want to do Differential Client Copy

Dear All,

I want to do client copy (Local client copy), on regular basis of my Production Server on Quality Server. How can I do that ?

 

Currently I selected SAP_ALL while copying to my Quality client. But after Import got completed it wiped all my on going working data and started reflecting my complete Production Data. It also wiped all my users and their Roles.

 

What should I chose to avoid that? I want to keep all existing data of Quality but also want to have my Production Data.

 

And also want to know how can I do differential copy.

Adding a windows dialog instance to a unix central instance: ECC 6

Greetings All,

 

I have a requirement to install a windows dialog instance to an existing unix based central instance. I have found sap note 680617. Can someone share the command for sharing usr/sap as sapmnt because it was exported to the windows server but when I login to the windows server I cant find the exported directory. Is there any additional steps to be performed in windows side before I am able to see unix based directories.

 

Am using SAMBA.

Upgrading B1 client in Terminal Service environment

Dear Experts

I'm trying to upgrade B1 client in Terminal Service environment but can not success.

My customer has prepared 2 servers.

1. B1 Server, includind Database, B1 Server, B1 client

2. Terminal Server, including B1 client.

Install of B1 9 PL04 was done successfully in both servers.

Upgrading to PL05 was done successfully in B1 Server.

 

Environment of Terminal Server

- OS : Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Service Pack 1 (64 bit)

- Mem : 8GB

- CPU : Intel Xeon 2.7 Ghz

- Terminal Service

- Anti Virus : Symantec Endpoint protection

- Windows Firewall : Off

- VM Ware (Virtual Server)

 

Based on my colleagues advice, I stopped Windows Firewall, Anti Virus , and run B1 client as Administrator (normal way), but the upgrading process was running more than 13 hour and not finished.

I killed the process via task manager, and tried to unstall B1 client (PL04) and install PL05 from B1 Server's share folder, but could not uninstall.

Error screen appeared

1. Feature transfer error : Error -1618 ????????????????????????????/

2. Unhandled Exception : Error Number 0x800040702

       Description : Failed to load DLL : CreatorDll

       Setup will not terminate

 

Does anyone has a solutions for this issue?

9.0 PL5 Upgrade Issues

Hi,

 

I am having trouble upgrading from 8.82 PL14 to 9.0 PL5.

 

Two server setup, both 2008 r2 SP1 - one for SQL 2008 R2, the other for Server tools. B1 DB has (with OS upgrades along the way) gone from 2005 > 2007 > 8, SQL is working correctly, TCP is properly confired and required services are set to auto,

 

I tried to run upgrade from the Server tools machine and it gave an error,and indicated I would have to do a manual rollback. I didn't pay much attention to the error as it was just server tools so I thought I would just uninstall and start clean.

 

Installed Server Tools 9 providing B1SiteUser password, choosing self-signed cert and giving SQL credentials. Install went ahead ok and Landscape DB was created on SQL server. License was attached to the License server, at this point everything seemed fine.

 

Then ran the upgrade wizard from same machine hoping to upgrade other components - immediately asked for B1SiteUser password, but when entered get 'Could not connect to licence server; enter valid password'

 

Cannot log in on the ControlCenter webpage either - putting my password in and clicking 'Log On' has no response (same on Forgot Password page).

 

Have uninstalled and resintalled multiple times to make sure there are no typos with password.

 

Event log has a series of "The description for Event ID 5 from source B1LicenseService cannot be found".

v9.0 PL5 Installation - Database Issues

Hi,

 

Server Tools is installed and the license has been successfully applied.

 

In the configuration site, I set my DB and credentions, and my company files were listed. However, the clients were bringing up an empty company list.

 

Based on other threads on this forum, I detached the Common db and set about reinstalling the Server. I am installing this from my Server Tools server to a remote SQL server - I prefer to keep the share etc off the SQL server.

 

When I get to server type, the list is empty - so I enter MSSQL_2008 manually, then I type in the name of the SQL01 in the next screen along with username and password. The credentials are correct - but I get "The connection to the specified server has failed".

 

I am getting very frustrated with all this now - installing a database and a fileshare shouldn't be this troublesome and never used to be.

License Server moved to different IP and cannot log in

We moved our License Server to different office location. The new office location has static IP and we'd like to set this static IP as our License Server IP for the clients to connect to. What I have done so far:

 

1. I opened port 30000, 30001 on the router (port forwarding).

 

2. In SAP Business One Server Manager > Setting > Connection Tab: I have changed the default Server Name from localhost to the static IP address and have ensured that the Port Number is set at 30000.

 

3. I have disabled all firewalls in both License Server and Clients.

 

 

Then, I made a test drive using my laptop.

 

1. I ran SAP B1 client.

 

2. I connected my laptop to the internet using LAN / Wifi connection in the office where the License Server is located.

 

3. In Administration > License > License Administration - I updated the License Server using the new static IP.

 

4. It works!

 

-----PROBLEM -----

 

I disconnected my laptop and re-connect using my 3G Wifi connection. I ran SAP B1 client to login and got this error message:

 

/-------------------------------------------------------/

Enter IP Address or Server Name for the License Server

Connection with license server failed [Message 60070-15]

/-------------------------------------------------------/

 

I have entered the correct IP address and still get the same error message.

 

Anyone can provide feedback where I did wrong?

 

* Please do not suggest Citrix, Remote Desktop connection as they are different from what I want to accomplish.

Client Upgrade

Hello everyone

 

We have an issue that actually has never happened to me before

 

The thins is that when you try to update a client, it just nothing happens

 

 

For example, here is the scenario

 

1. You install SAP B1 on a new PC, Windows 7 Professional x64, brand new

2. You run the installation from b1 Shared folder on your server (or using the installation CD)

3. You choose, once you double click the SAPb1 icon, "Choose company"

4. All companies appears

5. You enter a valid user name and password

6. Dialog box appears with "Your software version is not updated...Sap Business one will be restarted...." Click in OK

7. Nothing else happens, the screen (from SAP) just hangs by hours, or in the other case, you return to the "Choose company" Screen

 

I tried to catch que process on the Activity Monitor and the process is "Suspended" on SBO-COMMON db, the details of the process is this transaction

 

 

SELECT T0.[UpgCab] FROM  [dbo].[SINF] T0 

 

Which returns nothing in a simple query

 

Don't know what could be, this suddenly start to happen, I've already create a hole new SBO-COMMON, same scenario, also tried with a SBO-Common backup from dates before, but same scenario.

 

 

Fortunately, all clients early installed, work great, the problem is that we cannot add new workstations!

 

 

Hope someone could have a clue

RSP SAP Channel ERROR

I'm  trying to configure the RSP and, in the SAP Channel tab, when I click on "Test Connection" after typing my Suser information, it just says: "An error occurred while connecting to sap channel."

 

And give me possibilities: Proxy, SAP Channel is down, No internet connectivity.

 

 

Proxy and Internet connectivity are ok

 

 

How can I fix this?
