We have been doing some work in Accounts and froze the accounting periods January - September, but it appears this action stopped MRP from working.
Is this behaviour correct by design, or is it possible there is an as yet undefined issue?

Upgrading SAP ECC 6.0 NW 7.0 (ABAP) to SAP ECC 6.0 NW 7.4 (ABAP + JAVA)
Good Afternoon Gentlemen,
I need your help understanding what's involved on a upgrade we need to perform.
Right now we have a SAP ECC 6.0 with the following components:

All other components are 600 or 604.
My functional team agreed with the client a upgrade for components 7.4 in order to install SAP BPC.
In my understanding, the current version is a ECC 6.0 on a NW 7.0 EHP1 (ABAP) and since we're being asked to upgrade to components 7.4, we're going to upgrade to ECC 6.0 on a NW 7.4 (we can choose the EHP freely). Is this correct?
Can you also point me the direction for the right documentation in order to do this the smoother way possible?

SAP B1 Licensing - all or nothing!?!?!?!
Hi all,
Just had an interesting conversation with our B1 Partner.
Our business has shrunk by 30% this year, we've been forced to lay off some staff, and others are now working part time to help us get through this difficult period. We currently have 13 Professional, and 8 CRM user licenses.
We have asked at the next maintenance renewal to drop the 8 CRM users as we no longer have those staff. We understand we will have to pay full price again if we want those licenses back in the future.
However, according to our B1 Partner, SAP will not allow us to "drop" any of the user licenses we have. We have to keep ALL of them and pay maintenance on all of them no matter what.
Can anyone confirm that it is indeed official SAP policy to force customers to keep and maintain all user licenses forever? Our B1 Partner was very understanding but have told us their hands are tied by SAP.

SAP Version 8.82 PL04 to PL 12 upgrade error
Hi all,
I have encounter a problem about sap patch level upgrade error. When I upgrade patch level 04 to patch level 12, I received error " No match records found (ODBC -2028)" at company database upgrade.
The upgrade still no problem in SBODemoGB database upgrade and its happen when my current database is upgrade. The patch level upgrade is still no problem in addons, help database, sever tools and other.
Please give me some help and advice if there a way to solve this problem.

- go to settings - manage search engines - add a new search engine
- You can choose name and shortcut but URL must be https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/%s
- If you enter now your Shortcut like "n" and space you see "Search SAPNotes". then insert your note number
mozilla firefox
- open your firefox. go to "manage search engines"
- click "Get more search engines..."
- search for "sap movento"
- choose "movento search for SAP Notes" and add to firefox
- choose "SAP Note Search" and insert your note number

Very low performance after upgrade
Hi dear expert.
I need some suggestion to figure out a very low SAP CLIENT performance after we uppgraded to SAP B1 9.0 PL14 (9.02.240) 32 Bit.
Our scenario:
SAP SERVER:
WINDOWS 2008 R2 Ent on VMWARE
12 Gb RAM
4 CPU SOCKETS
Sql Server 2008
Integration Framework
Crystal report Plugin
CLIENT SERVER (all user log-in in RDP connection)
WINDOWS 2008 R2 Ent on VMWARE
16 Gb RAM
8 CPU SOCKETS
Client SAP (18 professional user)
MS OUTLOOK
MS WORD
MS EXCEL
some other minor software
We upgrade from PL8 to PL14 in the evening of 27 november..
The upgrade takes about 3 hours and give me no errors. The only problem was I had to reinstall the integration service component.
Well...
After the upgrade... The SAP client become very slow in log-in procedure.
In addition, often freeze for 5-10 seconds during normal use.
Every instance of SAP (every user loggedon) takes about 450 Mb of RAM for process SAP BUSINESS ONE.exe 32 and about 1.6 Mb of ram for process SAP BUI COM
The only add-on running are:
Outlook integration for all user
Payment Engine (BPENGINE.exe and BP_CASHBANK.exe) for 3 users.
I try to check all log file lookin for some error or some suggestion with no luck.
Some one could suggest me how understand this issue??

Row_number() -SQL function throws error - SAP B1 2005 B - PL 36
hi experts,
when i try 2 run "SELECT * FROM (SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY CardName) AS RowNo,CardCode,CardName FROM OCRD Where CARDTYPE='C') AS OCRD"
query in SAP B1 2005 B, PL-36 it shows an error -server throw an exception.
anybody can comment on it

change password and password hint
whenever users request to change their password, we used to reset their password and inform ... alternatively I would like to initialize their password and can they receive such autogenerated password through email. is there any facility like forgot password based on hint questions etc. in SAP.

user session restriction
i woulk like to restrict logon hours for few user sessions.... I mean one user may create a session between 10 hrs to 18 hrs on weekdays and other may have the facility betwoeen 14 hrs to 22 hrs

When i log on to SAP B1,all the sap add-on's and company dependent add-on's are disconnected both in server and client side.We are using SAP B1 2007B Patech level:10. When we close these msg i'm getting another error Msg as
Error Code:-8012 Error:Bad Company Version
Kindly guide me how to solve this issue.
